And punishing children by having them gored to death by bears for teasing an old man?????????
I really don’t have a problem with this story personally. I can more than equate with poor Elisha….. and who said he was old…???? The cheek..!!!
.
the record of murder in the bible..... god: 33 million.
satan: 10. and satan's the bad guy?????.

This helps explain why good feels so bad…….. And why bad feels soooo good………. if you know what I mean…….he he heee….!!! (said in a very devilishly suggestive tone….!!)
i have a question for the ex-jw's on this forum after months of reading the forum..... many say how good it is to be free of the oppressiveness of the jw's that they can now enjoy the freedom to... have sex, celebrate christmas, gamble, embrace politics etc.
there are still biblical scriptures and principles in place that if you still followed the bible would mean you avoid these things and yet these are now embraced as one of the perks of no longer being a jw so in my confusion i ask.... if these are what you want, isn't it more correct to say you no longer follow the bible as apposed to just the jw's?.
hi mr majestic I got to you :) again
What also would be wrong with someone playing the slot machines if the bible isn’t true…..??
And what would be wrong with someone voting if the bible isn’t true…??? Would it not be in his best interests if there was no truth in the bible….???
Looking forward to your reply, especially on the Christmas scenario.......
The principle on gambling seems to be an established christian one not unique to just witnesses drawn from love of money, putting faith in chance.
Voting is a more difficult one from my research it is unique to witnesses, but I personally feel the principles involved are sound, as with in not putting faith in the salvation coming from men and being responsible for the actions of a government if you vote them in and they choose to goto war etc
lol I refer to my christmas point above for your consideration :)
Hi Reniaa,
Thank you for your efforts to answer the questions that I posed to you. I was sorry and a little bit disappointed that you couldn’t answer them honestly and directly, and I would say that your last attempt was a little incoherent to the specifics of the simple but direct questions I asked….
As you seem to be finding it a little bit of a struggle I thought that I would take the liberty to answer those questions for you:-
If the bible is not true, there is absolutely nothing wrong with indulging in Christmas, being that it would be just an ancient religious custom that has no real meaning at all these days….
If the bible isn’t true then there would be nothing wrong with someone playing a slot machine, so long as he didn’t overindulge…..
And if the bible isn’t true, then it would be a wise choice to vote, to try to improve the welfare of the community that you live in….
Like I have said, I am sorry that you couldn’t be just a tad more honest in your replies, but self-dishonesty seems to be par for the course for believing JW’s, as you seem to be. So as this seems to be the case I see that trying to appeal to an open mind is futile. But thank you for your best efforts. It has been quite enlightening….
Just to say, your confusion on matters seems to be that you are still very much stuck in the indoctrination of the JW’s. The only way that you are going to manage to get beyond that locked mindset is to pull back from the constant indoctrination. This break will give your mind a chance to open other avenues of reasoning, and you might be better able to see a more rounded out perspective and go beyond the JW reasoning you very evidently are trapped in. This will then help you see more accurately that people leaving the organisation, and also those who loose belief in the bible, do so for valid reasons, and not for the want of attaining lower moral values as your JW mindset reasoning seems to wish to believe in. Your belief system seems to be inhibiting your ability to be open minded and reasonable and most importantly honest.
Good luck with your transition to open mindedness….. It really is nothing to fear I promise…..
so when i go out i usually have a cosmo, as you can tell im still channelling sex and the city lol, but... they arent very big so i've started drinking very berry cocktails which are also just as nice but much bigger, yum.

Hi Reniaa,
Thank you for your direct reply to my question. I read it with interest but just wished to extend the question a little with your response, and try to see round a little false argumentation that might have popped into the conversation….
You replied:-
"My answer is consequences! police will tell you one time of the year they dread is christmas more deaths happen then than any other time from overindulgence, hospitals dread it for similar reasons, Worship is the only word I can apply to Christmas because of one main reason, if I choose to not celebrate it my children will suffer at school...thats something i can't avoid, if christmas was such a lovely good thing nothing that important, I would not be condemned and niether would my kids for not doing it but we will be and that is a fact! "
I don't quite understand the second part of your answer but what would be wrong with someone who didn’t believe the bible, sitting at home with his family and friends, enjoying the day of Christmas, maybe eating and drinking a little too much, but not to the point of dying, but just to the point where you think that you could have done without that last pile of mash potato….?? If the bible isn’t true then please explain what would be wrong with that scenario…?? (I can’t say that I have ever personally heard of someone dying from overindulgence at Christmas time)…???
The question on sex seems to be already covered….

Hi Reniaa,
Don’t fall into the cliché that the society promotes as to the reason why people leave the organisation. Not everyone that leaves them desires to pursue those things that you have listed as ‘perks’ for leaving the witnesses. Some of us genuinely leave because we have found out that not only are the JW’s wrong, even in regards to their belief in the bible, but we have also done extensive studying of the bible since we have left (being that we were not really allowed to look into it as a JW and ask the awkward questions at least) and have found it wanting as evidence of it being what it claims to be…. ‘Gods word’.
Because some of us see through JW’s and also the bible doesn’t mean that we turn to a life that is without the so called ‘biblical principals’. There are many people that don’t know much about the bible that live more ‘biblically’ principled lives than many professed ‘believers’.
But to answer your question "is it the JW’s or the God of the bible you no longer believe?" my answer would be ‘both’, and it would be for the reason of studying the evidence more than it would be for the desire of ‘loose living’ as the rest of your comment implies.
But just to put a question back to you reniaa, if the bible isn’t true, what actually would be wrong with people "having sex, celebrate Christmas, gamble, embrace politics"???
so the katy perry song - i kissed a girl.
do you like it -or is it beginning to getannoying.
i cant stop singing it.
Oi you, lol. I didnt and i still haven't...............yet.
Well get a move on then.......!!!
You know you wana.....!!
so the katy perry song - i kissed a girl.
do you like it -or is it beginning to getannoying.
i cant stop singing it.
I like it still.
You told me that you didn’t kiss that girl…!!
Little fibber…
If I see beggars with no legs and one arm, I'm still skeptical.
Yeah…… but I bet that when you were a JW you would have given them a Watchtower mag…..You heartless bast@rd…..!!!!
i was at work today and low and behold an elder from the kh i used to go to came in.
i never got to know him very well but he always struck me as pleasant and mild mannered.
the thing is i stopped going to meetings over a year ago and am now, as i have already shared, being shunned by my jw son and his wife and can't see my beautiful little grand daughter any more.. i haven't officially dissassociated and not met with any elders but don't care what action they take as they can't do any more damage to me now.
Nice one Maddie............... (I was just talking about you to someone, wondering how you were…)
So what did it feel like to be so empowered…??
Hope You're well.......!
